Asking for prayers for a second child

Postby prayingformore » Thu Sep 09, 2010 3:41 pm

Hello – I am writing this in hopes for a few more prayers this cycle. I am a 34 (almost 35) year old wife and mother to a beautiful 2.5 year old boy. A few months before his 1st birthday my husband and I started trying for our second child.

After trying (using ovulation kits and charting) for a year we decided to see a specialist. The specialist ran all sorts of tests on me and my husband and I was diagnosed with a unicorinated uterus and although I have two functioning ovaries and ovulate every month I only have a tube on my left side. Basically the right side of my uterus and the right tube never form. My uterus is half the size of a typical uterus. I was shocked with this information. I had a c-section with my son and they did not discover this problem. I know what a miracle my son is, I got pregnant easy with him and carried him to full term with no complications. I thank God everyday for him. With this condition it typically takes longer to get pregnant, you have a high risk of miscarriage, pre-term labor etc.

Anyway we decided to start some fertility medication to try to force me to ovulate from both ovaries to increase my chances (we did an IUI also). We were so excited to learn after the first cycle I was pregnant, unfortunately that pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. After 3 more failed cycles with the specialist my husband and I decided to take a break from treatments and just try naturally for a while.

I am starting my 2WW today. We never know what side I am ovulating on so we don’t really know if we have a real chance or not from month to month. I had some pretty strong ovulation pains from the left side so I am hoping that is the side I ovulated from this month. I have been praying to God, St. Gerard and Virgin Mary through out this hard journey but would love a few more prayers if possible.

I know I am truly blessed with the miracle of my son but my heart aches for more children. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and thank you in advance for your prayers.

We finally made #3 after 49 cycles of TTC and more or less coming to terms with the idea of no more children!

I was very touched by your story. Try not to let the stress interfere with what you are trying to do. I will pray for you also.

Hello all – I just wanted to give everyone a quick update and to thank you all again for all the prayers. I have been doing acupuncture for the last several months and the last cycle I started a Chinese herbal regimen prescribed by the acupuncturist and I just found out recently I was pregnant. I was excited but cautious since I did suffer a miscarriage and I had experience some spotting. I went in for an early ultrasound and we were able to see the baby and the heartbeat! We still early but this is a great first step. Thank you God, thank you St. Gerard and thank you all for all of your prayers!!!!
